ABOUT ME
Angela Cristina Negro
I graduated from McGill University with a Mechanical Engineering Degree and a minor degree in Management. Like most college students about to graduate I didn’t really know what I wanted to do. My aspirations were nothing more than to find a good job that would allow me to become financially independent from my parents and that would provide me with opportunities for advancement. Thanks to my previous work experience I had different opportunities for employment, but something at the back of my mind cautioned me that the safest route is not always the best route.
So I searched for adventure. I travelled the world and tried to gain as much experience as possible in as many business units as I could in order to ensure I had a well-rounded background with a variety of transferrable skills. Over the course of the last 3 years I have been successful in gaining credibility and building a reputation of high performance very quickly and in numerous industries.
But like any young professional, I still have questions as I go along. Questions that come up as I go through different experiences. The answers, however, are less easy to come by. I have been fortunate that I have had a couple of professional mentors in my short career whose counsel has been invaluable in helping me to find the answers I was looking for. For the remaining questions, I have spent countless hours pouring through mountains of books in search of advice and direction. But most importantly, I have taken action to pursue my ambitions, seek advice and make the necessary changes to achieve to my utmost potential.
And that’s why I decided to start this blog. I created The Professional Careerist to be a resource for all those who are serious about learning how to manage their careers through personal development. In order to get ahead, you have to learn quicker than the person sitting next to you. No one has the time to experience everything first-hand themselves. You have to tap into the wisdom, knowledge and experiences of others in order to accelerate your personal development and get ahead faster.
I want to offer readers an interactive forum where anyone can come and share their ideas, begin discussions and mentor others through personal experience. If you are serious about getting ahead and becoming the best professional you can be, you are a Professional Careerist. I hope this site will serve as your stop for the development tools you need.
If you would like to get in contact with me or you have some suggestions, concerns, questions about my site, please feel free to fill out the contact form below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
